F1 2001 GT mod problems

I got a very weird problem with the GT mod and I can't seem to fix
it..

In 1 out of 2 races the fps is perfect. But also in 1 out of 2 races I
get major stuttering. As soon as I leave the pits, the game stops
responding for a second or 5, while the sound continues. Then I can
drive for a couple of seconds with perfect fps.
Then again a pause of a second or 5.

This continues untill I have driven a whole lap, then the stuttering
seems to become less, but still I get regular pauses.

The problem can't be too much gfx detail I think, I set everything
really low, and between the pauses the fps is perfect.
And 50% of the races I don't get stutters at all.

Weird eh? Any ideas?

Also, yesterday I drove a Ferrari 550 around Monaco. Now I know Monaco
is narrow, but the field of view was really bad, it felt the 550 was
way too big to drive around Monaco. From outside view I saw there was
enough room for 2 550s driving alongside each other, so the in-car fov
is quite wrong. Any way to change the fov?

And the AI is even worse than F1RC's AI. Any working AI fixes out yet?

Cheers,
Andre

I'm also curious, but I'll wait for a 'final' version, with an installer. If
they intend to make one of course...

I wouldn't wait that long you are missing out..  I have been playing this
for a week now and I'm still impressed, especially with the Porsche. Only
thing I find a little strange is when you hit big bumps at high speed,
particularly in faster cars such as the Ferrari, the car does get a little
more air than it should, I assume this is being worked on  ;0)...    but
generally if you take the correct lines the realism is superb.

For best results, drive the Porsches and use the proper drivers in car view.
All the other views don't do it any justice at all, neither do alot of the
screen shots and replays. There is a few bits to do to install it but the
tutorial is easy to follow and its well worth the effort.

I don't feel I'm missing out at all. I'm sure it's good, but I have tons of
other stuff 'waiting' on my pc, which I don't even to get round to. I even
have some unfinished business in Tombraider 4... So I don't mind waiting
some more, and watch this thing develop further. But I will be playing it,
and I appreciate the feedback.

Cheers, Ice D
