Why No F12001 GT Mod Discussion?

Has anyone here bothered to try this yet? I posted news of it's release four
days ago but almost no discussion. It seems pretty damn great to me, and I
thought this newsgroup was wanting something like this for a long time.

The physics aren't finalized yet, the AI needs some work, and there are a
few bugs, but I'm still very surprised at seeing no reaction here to this
add-on.

After hearing that it only works in Grand Prix mode I decided not to
try.  At the very least I would want Test Day and Quick Race to work
before I would install it.  I would also like a real installer for it.
;o)

You can practice all you like on any track in GP mode . You're missing out
something very good. :-)

Installation seemed like it would be a pain at first, but it's actually
pretty easy.

Good news. It does work in test day and quick race. Just set the grid order
to random in the rules options.

I'm told it can be run online at Relay as long as the modified vehicles
option is set to "allowed". Not 100% positive about that though.

Could it be that few of us own or like F12001?

Just an idea....
I myself have never tried it.

Now if you ask me why... the answer is I want real multiplayer support.
Real as in GPL-spec or better. Right now very few sims offer that... and
that is why on my shelve there's very few new sims.

Anything offline-ish is uninterresting  -- to me.

Umm, what  newsgroup have you been reading? Most here seem to own and like
F12001 a lot.

You'll have to get the FIA off the developers backs befoe you get a modern
F1 sim with really good mp.

Never had much success on Relay with F1 2001 myself.  Anyone else out
there have success with it?

Me too :)  I don't mind running a GPL championship now and blue moon then,
but that's it.

Did anyone try  ISCH Mod for Nascar Heat:
http://texasspeedracing.com/topdawg/main-body-6.shtml

I think Nascar Heat, has very good online implementation, compare to
F12001.

Pop in and ring Schumi sometime... I'll see if I can figure what your
problem is. Although beyond the Relay Settings for presetting the variables
in the game... Relay doesn't do a whole lot in regards to controlling the
online play at all. Once you launch and pass any necessary cheat-checking...
its all game.

I'd be willing to give you a hand if you like.

--> For everyone -->

As for the new mod... well if you turn on "Modified Vehicles Allowed" you
will bypass all cheat checking, and should not have any problems (outside of
the mods probs if any, or the game's settings).

Cheers,
Schumi
