The one that had a few post about missing patches (or was that another
F1-title?), crappy multiplayer-code and other things..

Too bad....  looks like I wont be buying any modern F1-sims for a long long
time then...
Guess that FIA / FOCA's loss then.

Does it work with F1 2K?

It's 95% finished.

If you go over to HG, there is a ton of talk and e***ment about this
add-on.

Here? Nothing.

More evidence I guess (unfortunately) that r.a.s. is basically  a club
headquarters for a certain sim.

Because inhere you HAVE to love GPL. Any other sim is ***(Rally Trophy as
an exception), and if you don't see that, you're off! Just look at my
flaming of GLP some weeks ago!!

I have downloaded it, and besides a little troubble with the sound (see an
earlier thread) it is great. The Porche sound is too weak compared to Viper
and Ferrari, but that is just a matter of adjustment.
The cars though seems to be a little to much understeering, especially at
low speeds, and I miss a handbrake, :o), to force the rear around.

Definately understand why you'd say that about GPL, hey, it's true to an
extent, but I think also a lot has to do with you can't race it online, or
at least that perception.

Just a guess, but I'd bet most here are more interested in racing X sim
online than X sim offline.

That was because you trolled on purpose under a different nickname
with a quite idiotic post, then denied the troll was you, then you
admitted it. Nothing wrong with a well-founded opinion, but the way
you posted here was quite sad. And you got some well deserved flaming
in return.

r . a . s  David - in case you  missed it...

Like I said - this is/was *my impression* of how things are...

As stated before - I have not tested F2001 (or any other modern F1 sim for
that matter)

If a sim dont have proper online play, I wont even bother looking at it....
my time on this planet is short enough as it is....

Everyone likes a good arcade game now and then.  Unfortunately,
Porsche Unleashed or Colin McRae 2.0 were more fun than driving around
flat tracks through multiple chicanes.

Can we get one with cars that handle realistically and also has
support for split axis controllers?

Nice conclusion jumping :) I would still put the answer as "I have no
idea"

It generally amazes me how web-forums are way more popular to use than
newsgroups. I mean, there are around 200-300 posts per day here, but
probably tons more at legends central and high gear. What I don't get
is why people really want to use a user unfriendly system compared to
what newsgroups are with a proper newsreader. Or maybe it is a
demographic thing.

I think the only appeal of a web based forum is the ability to have
dedicated lists for each sim.  Here we are kind of a scattered group with
Need for Speeders shoulder to should with GPLers.  But a forum can give you
specific answers to certain sims.  I use them from time to time to get
answers about say Nascar Heat, but I much prefer the speed of a newsgroup
any day.
