Are you sure the core.ini is named properly (i.e. removing the .sample
from core.ini.sample)?  If you created a new core.ini with notepad,
make sure there's not a .txt stuck on the end (core.ini.txt).

that's because you just turned it off, it was set to use it if it had it.
now it's set to not use it whether it's got it or not.

Er... no.  It's disabled by default and in the core.ini.sample.  You
use 'allow_force_feedback = 1' to enable it.

I left it out the first time (oops)    :-0

Hope it helps,

Same here Andy. No force feedback with MSFF. The core.ini file is called
simply that, no .sample ? Have some people got different versions above and
beyond the country specified versions I wonder?

From the "if it doesn't work plug it in department": Did you check your
controller properties
settings tab to make sure FF effects were on?  :-)

I have fixed it .It was because the core ini was labelled sample i just
copied all the data from the sample ini then made a new txt file in the
directory pasted all the details into it deleted the sample and renamed
the new file. The FF is excellent but i must say with the Microsoft wheel i
had to turn the feedback effect down as the wheel was to stiff to drive
comfortably.

Does anyone have the GPLTS.HTML troubleshooting file?  The GPL
1.1 patch readme says
it is included, but I can't find it anywhere.  Did I maybe get a
bad patch file?

Set the "max_steering_torque"-value in the [ Joy ] section of core.ini to
higher values than the default 225 to decrease the force.

Are you positive there's not a .sample on the end?  If you choose to
associate the file with notepad or another editor the .sample
extension could be hidden by Windows.  If you right-click on the file
and choose properties, is the MS-DOS name 'core.ini'?  If it's
actually core.ini did you enable the FF line?

You must have. The word 'gplts.html' are not in my
copy of the readme11.txt.
