gpl/logitech ff/win2k probs

i have a logitech ff whell, win2k and play GPL.

however there is apparently a problem with win2k to do with how it reads the
ff messages for the x and y axis.....

to cut a long story short i get uncontrollable jerk in the steering wheel
whenever i try and turn it.
this is Not anything to do with the settings i am using (i tried them all
anyway) because it never happened like this in win98.

logitech say its microsofts fault and dx8 will fix it.

well i downloaded a beta of dx8 and it changed nothing!

so if anyone know what i am talking about and have managed to fix it please
tell us.
perhaps you have downloaded a version of dx8 beta that does fix it?

You downloaded the 3.60 beta drivers from wingmanteam? They're supposed to
be W2K compatible.

The 3.60 drivers are official now - yet they don't have adequate support
for split axes, as you'd want for proper left-foot braking.  And I
haven't been able to get the Profiler to recognize my LWFF.  Let them
know at www.wingmanteam.com.  They'll listen - and hopefully get 3.61
drivers out soon!
