Questions: Logitech FF for GPL 1.1 (TSW2 Owner)

Alright, I'm starting to think I should buy one of these for GPL 1.1 since I
feel like I'm missing something ;-).  I do have a few questions:

1.  Is it analog or digital?  I've read that it is purely digital so turning
slightly right or hard right is the same.  I can't believe this is true!  If
it is then this is not for me since I must have analog steering and pedals.

2.  If you've used a TSW2 (which I currently own) please compare.  I'm
thinking of using TSW2 pedals which our outstanding with this wheel for
games that support FF well.  I would also look forward to the paddle
shifters.

3.  How are the pedals?  Is it easy to use other pedals on the gameport
while using this wheel on USB?

4.  Is the FF in GPL really that good?   Come on, it can't be THAT good :-).

Thanks to all who reply.

i can only answer #1 about digital potentiometers generally- since i don't
have a logitech wheel (yet).
digital potentiometers do not work in a purely on/off fashion, any more than
digital CDs mean sound/no sound (vs. analog records). the digital signal is
graded. on a microscopic level i'm sure this means it's "choppy"- but only
in the way one can see the individual pixels in a TV display. turning
slightly right and hard right are nothing alike..... well, except for the
direction :).
i'm not sure if the pedals use analog or digital pots. i understand it is
quite simple to plug a different pedal set (i hear CH works well) into the
gameport and use USB.
in any case, the digital pots are supposedly very precise and robust, and
don't need calibration. this is generally seen as a "good thing" and a vast
improvement over analog. the effect is the same, it's just cleaner (think of
CDs)

do you think the fanatics in here would stand for "slightly right or hard
right is the same"??!
:)

pedals.

Nope, they are standard pots.  However, what is being sent to the game
controller is not straight analog data, i.e. there is a processor onboard
that intreprets the signal.

YOu can use your TSW2 pedals.  Plug the LWFF in under serial or USB, your
choice, keep your TSW2 plugged into the gameport on the soundcard/pdpi/etc
and then use the LWFF wheel and select the TSW2 pedals instead, looks just
fine.

Yes.  GPL makes this possible very easily since it recognizes up to (10 is
it now?) 10 game axises.

:-).

Try it for yourself.

No, of course it is analog.

No reason you couldn't use your TSW2 pedals. TheLogitech connects
through your USB or serial port, and the TSW is via gameport right?

You probably won't like the Logitech pedals if you have TSW ones, but
no there's no problem using gameport devices simultaneously with a USB
one.

Yes it is. Imagine FEELING the weight shift around in all six
directions. Feel the force Joe!
