Where's the friggin' patch to make F1RC playable? It's a POS in it's
present state and I wouldn't touch F1RC2 with a ten foot pole until I
see F1RC fixed first.

Maybe this is the *patch* that was supposed to be out 6 weeks ago...just
now some people will pay for it....  It's funny, this is announced while
they're *waiting* for the FIA to approve the new patch.  Just something
else to make you go...hmmmmmmm. ;)

They did the same with MGPRS2.  F1RS was full of bugs also.

I bought F1RS and when they did the same thing with their poor attempt
of an upgrade with MGPRS2.. I said no more UbiSoft and never bought
one title from them since..
Now they're doing it o the buyer again. Btw: How long has F1RC been
out? phew...Imho They are just to damn Greedy. I really can empathize
with everyone who bought F1RC.. I really can!! Thom_j.

At least it worked.  I can't even run this piece of ***without deleting
the saves folder each time.  Plus it does something to the system that I
can't get rid of without rebooting after each session.

Which basically means that I have an imported coaster.

Ubi's 'poor attempt of an upgrade with MGPRS2' was in fact a major step
forward from F1RS.  The physics, the AI, the effect of different garage
parameters, and the graphics were huge improvements over F1RS.
In addition, Ubi were very good at producing patches quickly for their
titles - and were praised on ras at the time for that.
This whole thing about the FIA approval of the patch is another mystery.
Why the complaints?  F1RC has only been out about 6 weeks, and what do Ubi
have to gain if they are lying about this?  The criticism makes no sense I'm
afraid.
OK, there are issues of AI performance, which as I've said before mostly
seem to have gone away for me and I don't know whether that's because of the
supposed 'learning' aspect, or it may be down to one of the many 3rd party
patches that have appeared. Also, one (or two) guys seem to have a weird
problem relating to deleting save game folders.  Nevertheless, most people
(including well-respected ras drivers) feel that F1RC is the best modern F1
sim around and are getting a lot of pleasure and challenge out of it.
Anyway what's wrong with announcing a sequel to be released 6 months in the
future?  Don't you guys want to think that even better sims might be ahead
of us?  I certainly do!

You're slowly turning into DGF, seriously Iain.

The Ubi brainwashing machine is getting on you pretty good.  You're twisting
the words, trying to answer questions with "why would they do that if it
wasn't...", etc..

F1RC2 ??

Well, for my part I just LOVE F1RC, the feeling's great, the beauty
astounding, the AI is getting less and less dumber with each race, I don't
play online with it, but it's definitely MUCH better than GP3, I didn't
really try F12K or the update F1CS2K which was released not so long after
F12K, and the GP3 addon was not free either.

I have a lot of respect for what you say Yves but just because DGF likes the
game doesn't mean that you have to puch everybody who likes it, besides that
DGF is  not the devil either, sometimes he is right, and sometimes wrong,
like all of us but he has just become the usual puching ball for everybody
in there...

Be as fair on the forum as you are on the track...

And on top of this this F1RC2 is totally uncofirmed for the moment, so wait
and see...

I'm glad I didn't but the first version! I bought F1 2000, and while the
F1 CS 2000 that was released shortly afterwards is definitely an
improvement I didn't buy it if only on principle (or, come to think of
it, because FF support is still appaling). I just might get the second
version of F1 RC; again, if FF effects are improved upon, of course.

Yeah, that's why the screen shots are from what we have now.

I'm going to make some "exclusive GP4 screenshots" and poste them next
week...and cash in the preorders...

What is easier and brings more money?

To tackle the *** problems of an existing program and
release a free patch to satisfy half of the few hard core
sim racers?

Or to bring out a new game with the old glitches and talk
some of the millions of gamers into buying it - few new
graphic gimmicks and some aggressive advertising
should do it :(

Ubi has announced F1RC[2] will be released in Q3 of 2001
(we are now in Q2 of 2001 aren`t we ?).  Has F1RC[1]  been
released in the U.S. yet ?

Strange. . .
