What makes you think I wasn't?

I had very little trouble configuring my equipment to run Falcon 3.0 (and if
*you've* been around long enough, then you'll know what that entailed and
what it implies), and that's as far as I'm going in this pissing contest.

Oh I go back a lot longer than that!  Let's see, F3 was probably late
eighties.  I was playing GCs Revs in the late seventies. There's pissing for
you!

That doesn't necessarily imply that was where I started, but if you were
rousing mightily in the late 70's, computer-wise, then I'll concede you have
me there.

Spending that much time in front of that era's poorly-shielded CRTs
obviously explains the presumptious statement you made regarding my DOS
familiarity, though.  I do hope you get well soon.

CRTs? Hah! You're both a couple of young wussies. I used to sim when the
only output device I had on the IBM/360 was a Selectric ball typwriter.

We're talking frames per HOUR here and SERIOUSLY low res.

Late 70's? I had to wait until it was released in 84-ish. Did you beta
test it for GC? Mind you, if you had an early beta in say 79 and i had
the retail in 84...yep that's about gestation period for one of his
games ;).

Good game though, still playing it.

It's not populated by software industry apologists either, thankfully.

You see, that's what rampant senility does for you!  You're absolutely
right, it was 84-ish!

Why do you think he wasn't around in the Dos days? Games have more
bugs now than in the dos days anyway. Once you figured out how to
configure dos memory management dos was a more stable environment than
this windows with directx is. Bring back Dos!

Hey Jagg, it's clearly you who needs the free services of Hearts cos you've
already forgotten that you posted this earlier.  Worrying really!  Maybe
you've been on it too long now.

'84, huh?  In that case about the only thing you have over me is your
rampant senility, which you're welcome to keep all to yourself,
thankyouverymuch!

Don't you have to deal with cold tires on the first lap?  Of COURSE that will
affect your braking point in the first corner...  You have to brake a bit
earlier than you were during a hotlap with low fuel.  The problem with most
sims is that the AI aren't affected by cold tires, and still use their normal
brake points.
