I have a request for all those who will be posting their reviews of GP3
on this board. I would like a couple of other games referenced in your
evaluation, specifically F1 2000 and GPL. I don't intend to start a war
about whether those games are good or not, I would simply like a
reference so I can gauge our different tastes. A simple, "I liked (or
didn't like) F1 2000, Love (or hate) GPL," or otherwise would help. That
way those of us who either liked or disliked the aforementioned, can
weigh each evaluation with some perspective.

Thanks,
Larry

Somehow I don't think this is the best place you could be if you want an
honest review of GP3:-)
We all know not many around here will admit to anything beating GPL.....

Yeah, I know what you mean GraDee, so instead of measuring it against
GPL if I simply know that  someone likes GPL and I do too, then I can
gauge a little better if I'll like GP3. Same with F1 2000, which to me
had the most diverse opinions on this board. If I know that someone
liked F1 2000 and let's say I didn't, then I could see that our tastes
our different enough to weigh the review accordingly. Just a thought

Couldn't be more wrong.  I think most of us are drooling over
the day GPL is knocked off it's position at the top.  Think of how
good a sim will have to be to do that....  Maybe it will be gp3, maybe
WSC, or even N4 or NH...but really...GPL has gotten this rap as
being the "be-all, end-all of sims...when really it should be thought of
as simply the best sim to be produced as of the Summer of 2000.  We
are perched on edge of our seats waiting for day when GPL is dethroned.  It
just hasn't happened yet...

Dave, I have said the same thing a dozen times over the past year and a
half....but it seems no one is listening.

Marc.

The thing is they are chalk and cheese to some extent. No matter how much I
like GPL, after a year or so, you're naturally going to enjoy something new
more - if it comes close to the mark -  and I think GP3 will - having said
that, I dont think GP3 will enjoy the "crown" for as long as GPL has - its
just not going to be that revolutionary.

I can guarantee, without fail, that within a month of buying GP3 I'll wheel
out the 1967 car just to enjoy the physics.

Once again.... will you ever get it? :-)

We all *want* it to beat GPL. If such a sim ever arrives, ras will be a
very happy place. People don't admit to anything beating GPL because
*nothing has*, and not just because it's GPL.

If GP3 is better than GPL we'll all freely admit it. If it's not, we
won't...

hehe, I know what you mean Graeme but I think some sims deserve a little
more recognition than they got around here in the last year or so:-)

Oh ***, that am I doing? I'm setting myself up for a right ol' flaming

What's the point? Night follows day. Water is wet. If you're reading this
and not hopelessly a NASCAR or CART bigot, you're buying GP3 before the end
of July. Right?

Michael.
