The physics of the cars of that era or the physics of the game?

Not if it's junk, like I did with F1 2000. Ended up giving it away and
would rather not waste my money again.

The physics of the car in GPL as compared to what the physics of the car
shall be in GP3.

Nothing stopping you from discussing other sims.  If a few selected
GPL fans become jerks on that thread, just ignore them.  After all,
that's no worse than a few selected anti-GPL fans that seem to have
this chip on their shoulder about how popular GPL is here.  ;)

(Sorry if this post rambles a bit, but I'm reacting to some of your
other posts of that nature.)

No, I'm here for an *** discussion.  One other thing to consider
is that this newsgroup tends to bring out the hard-core simmers, and
GPL is *the* hard-core sim.  People invest a lot of time in GPL, so
its hardly surprising that that is what they talk about the most.
I've flirted with other sims like SCGT or DTR this year, but they're
just a short-term diversion (and thus don't generate much talk from
me) compared to the going-on-two-year "full GPL immersion therapy".
:)

If something better comes along, I'll take a look at it.  I'm a bit
skeptical about GP3, since I'm not really a Crammond fan (I have GP1
and GP2, but ICR1 stole my heart and I lean more to the Kraemmer
school of simming), but I want to hear what people think and may buy
it if it sounds good to me.  Not really a NASCAR fan, but N4 and NH
have potential (again, for me).  And WSC looks like it may be the next
true successor to GPL, *if* the West Brothers can pull it off.  Let's
hope so.

nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark

CD.
One person saying FF works the other saying it doesn't........
One says Canned spins the other no canned spins......

Wait 1 whole week and decide on the release version not some cobbled

No.  I am neither a NASCAR fan nor a CART fan, and I will most likely
NOT purchase GP3 when it initially goes on sale -- the advanced press
is too disappointing, and I won't pay "full price" for this one.  This
sounds like a $24.99 title at best (I do admit that I haven't pre-
ordered it, so I am unaware of what the final retail cost is going to
be -- if it hits the shelves at EB for $24.99 - $29.99, I might
consider it, but, then again, maybe not).

The advanced reviews DO hold water for me -- most warez, beta, or even
late alpha titles I've sampled have usually been pretty darn close to
the finished product, and I don't have any high expectations for the
final version of GP3 based on what we're hearing so far. On the other
hand, the warez version of NFSPU was downright "excellent" in my
opinion, and the finished version was even better.

Everyone who is staunchly defending GP3 needs to consider this as
well:  If GP3 turns out to NOT be a big money-maker for Hasbro, then
that could be the end of racing "sims" as we know it.  If Hasbro loses
money, then we'll probably never see another racer labeled as a "sim"
from them -- and if that happens to Hasbro, then other publishers will
probably follow suit (you can almost hear the boardrooms now: "Hey, if
Hasbro couldn't make money with an F1 license and that Crammond guy,
there's no way we're ever going to consider doing a driving sim!").
Scoff if you want, but this is how "industry trends" get started.  Just
ask the flight simmers how bleak things can get.

If GP3 is anything less than a resounding success, then Crammond may go
from "saivor" to "goat" quicker than an F1 car goes from 0-to-60.

Oh God!  Another doomsayer!!

Hasbro has been back-pedalling for some years.......the Mircroprose that we
used to know disappeared with Bill Staley.
If they fold in repsonse to bad sales of GP3 then it's no great shakes.

You mean Wild Bill Stealey? He's the guy that probably started MPS on
the downward spiral in the first place. Just look at how he handled
iMagic for proof.

It's not a case of "admit to", it's just that there's nothing around
which requires it to be admitted yet.

That would be great. At this point it would be great if they totally folded.
After all with all the ***software they are putting out, it seems that is
what they want to do.

I am assuming that hasbro/microprose did not give crammond
enough resources (be it people or money or time) to do much
more than what he did. I don't see this as crammond's fault. I
blame the bean counters at hasbro and/or the market in general.
But the current market is reeling from a host of canceled games
and totally ***games that never sold well. Little do the bean
counters realize that more resources for crammond to do a better
game would yield *MUCH* higher sales. But if the huge presales
numbers are true, then they will at least brake even...

There will be allot of pissed off people though.

When he did the first F15 strike eagles and the first F19 and later
the Stealth fighter 2.0 game he was at the top. After Fleet Defender
microprose has really started crapping out... And that is why everyone
help high hopes for iMagic. There were also the golden years when
Andy (of skunkworks fame) worked at MPS.
