F12K braking

by Alexander Mar » Tue, 28 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I gave the retail version a try around the interlagos track, but I have huge
problems under braking. Although I have tweaked every possible deadzone out
with CTFJ  I can't seem to get off the brakes and off the throttle... I
approach the corner, brake, then Immediately get off the brake again but the
wheels stay locked and I skid into the gravel. Same thing under
accelleration, when I try to go smoothly round a corner, I enter the corner
wile trailbraking, but stay on the throttle to keep the car stable .. then
when I completely lift near the apex, it seems that it just stays on the
throttle for about 2 seconds longer which causes a unrecoverable spin. What
do I do wrong, any tips ? So  far, the controls are horrible.

Check out the post "F1 2000.... Initial fix for locking wheels.... by Simon
Philips.
(dated 26/03) He included a changed file which solves this (and other)
problems.

If you cant find it, let me know, i'll mail it.

F12K braking

Same thing was happening to me until I switched the break bias toward the rear
and only started depressing the brake about half as hard as other sims.

Now, the game is becoming more playable (at least during testing, where I can
get a decent frame rate.)
