Diamond Stealth II S220 and N2

I just bought the Stealth II S220 and am having a problem with the
screen locking up while playing N2. The game continues to run but the
screen is locked up. I have an Acer Aspire w/IBM 166 CPU, 24 MB of Ram.
I downloaded the latest drivers and BIOS from Diamond and that didn't
fix the problem. I also tired to play the game in straight DOS mode and
still no luck. If anyone knows a fix, please let me know. It's
frustrating running a 100 or so laps and the darn screen locks up with
the game still running.
