Diamond Stealth II S220......Opinions???

Nate,

My recent upgrade included this card. Overall, I am pleased. I can run
the Rendition versions of N2 and ICR2. The only problem is Diamond's
drivers for D3D. While the colors and smoothing are vivid and my
framerate around 30 fps in CPR's "Hardware Accelerated" mode, a portion
of the screen is "unrendered". All that is drawn is sky. It affects the
draw-ahead significantly, making the mode undrivable.

I have read that Diamond's next driver set will be released later this
month and should correct the problem. For the goods on this card, check
out www.bjorn3d.com.

Diamond Stealth II S220......Opinions???

I own a Stealth 2 and CART PR.  First, the drivers for the Stealth 2 do not
work properly with CPR right now, Rendition is supposed to be working on a
driver fix.  But my overall impressions of the Stealth 2 are high.  I have
owned the 3DFX based cards (Rush and Graphics) and I must admit that for the
money, you can not beat the Stealth 2.  But I have had some problems with
setup under Win95 but I received help from Diamond via long distance phone
call to solve all my problems.  I highly recommend this card for its 2D/3D
capabilities and later you will be able to add the Voodoo2 with no problems
alongside the Stealth 2.  Buy the Stealth 2!

Is the Stealth II a 3Dfx card or only a D3D.

It is a 2nd generation Rendition Card.  It is not Glide compatible.  BUT...it
does do D3d and it does do Opengl(read QUAKE!) and it has it's own versions of
Quake etc in the RRedline drivers.(VQuake)...So NO it is not a 3dfx card, but
it does do 2d/3d and does most of the games 3dfx does AND it is happy being
matched with a Voodoo as well.

Diamond Stealth II S220......Opinions???

I found that Toca touring cars game looks better on my bosses Stealth II
card than on my Monster 3dfx card.

Is that something that other people have noticed ?
(Rendition Cart racing also looks great on his Stealth II   ;)
But I can say that Need for Speed 2 SE looks better on mine.
