    I installed the D3D patch and notice that I get some slight freezes when
racing off-line. Racing on-line I get a lot of frame rate hits. My frame
rate drops to 20-25 fps. Most of the time it runs at 36fps. I don't get
these hits when racing off-line, just the freezes. I had none of these
problems with the open GL patch.  I know one of the answers is to go back to
the open GL patch but everything looks better with the D3D patch. Any idea?

I noticed the same thing, especially at Monaco. If the game 'stutters' at
various spots around the track (and always the same spots), then just change
the mirror settings for DoubleResWidth and DoubleResHeight to '0' in the
core.ini file. This solved it for me.

 I have a TNT2 Ultra card, with a PIII 500 and 256MB of RAM.

hi ,

i have a pen 3 550 64 meg voodoo 3 , my problem is when nfs3 hot pursuit goes to
load the screen goes blank.

any help

I've started to notice this at the 'ring.  It's at the same three places,
each just before sections of barriers with a checkerboard pattern.

The worst place (I'm new to GPL and I'm at work so I can't check the map, so
forgive this explanation) is a 90-degree left followed by these barriers on
each side of the road. It's the corner where you kind of drop down a long
forested decent to the corner then climb a steep hill soon after the turn,
there's a little house or something at the corner.

About 200m before the corner the frame rate drops to 20 fps or so then on
the way up the hill it goes back to 36fps.

I wonder if it's a texture loading thing?  I'll try the mirror thing
tonight...

did you install the new detonator 2 drivers? and did you follow the
instructions of the readme that came with the d3d-patch, i.e. set the
parameters in core.ini to the recommended settings for your card?
