I thought i'd fire F1 2001 back up and give the FIA GT mod another go.
However when i goto load f1 2001 it loads for a few secs then just switches
back to the desktop. This is on a clean install of F1 2001 with no addons or
patches installed. My specs are:

Celeron 850
256mb ram
64Geforce 2 Mx 400 (28.32 drivers)
12gig h/d
8gig h/d
LWFF
Windows XP

Its even more frustrating that it used to run fine. The only thing that i
have changed since i used to play it are added an extra drive (8gig h/d),
and ive also added an extra 126mb ram. If anyone could help it would be
really appreciated!

I believe the mod makers recomended the patches be installed before
attempting to add the FIA_GTv2 mod. Further the V3 mod should be out in
less than two weeks.

But the game doesnt even run with no mod installed... thats whats
frustrating

If I am not wrong, with the original unpatched F1-2001 and using some
version of Detonator, you need to run the game in window mode. If I remember
right, running fraps in background used to help fps a lot.

I had a problem were the FIA mod wouldn't launch but F1 would. Turned out
my FIA .ini (or is it cfg) file had a wonky entry in the video section. I
copied a section from an older "working" ini and all was fine.

Maybe some variation of that applied to the F12001 config file will work for
you... maybe even deleting the video lines...
