HELP! GPL

by Dway » Mon, 06 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I am having a problem with using my Force RS in GPL. When I have the FF turned
on the frame rate drops bad. Without the FF turned on I get 36fps. It makes it
almost unplayable even when all the graphics are turn off. The wheel works fine
on every other game but GPL. So I dont know if it is a problem with the game or
the wheel. I would think my system would be fast enough to handle the game and
the wheel. If anyone has any input on this I would greatly appreciate it. I
love the wheel so getting a new one is not an option.

AMD K6-2 380mhz
192meg
Voodoo3 3000 PCI

I've had the same problem with my Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel.
I found that the problem lay with the latest GPL patch. When I removed it
and stuck with the first patch there were no problems.

That's the best suggestion I can give I'm afraid.

i have almost the same setup as you k6-2 400mhz runs at 36fps apart
from the gfx card which is a voodoo 2 banshee (no name card).

with my force RS it works perfectly, maybe its the gfx card, as
there's plenty of voodoo 3000 users on here, maybe they can
help you?

you may also try to download newer drivers for the RS you can
find them on www.act-labs.com

HELP! GPL

The problem there is that GPL 1.1 suffers from a bug that causes
"slowdown" (rather like Le Mans 24 Hours does). In other words, a
minute of game time will take over a minute of actual time. That's why
hotlap competitions won't accept v1.1 replays.
