HELP!! GPL and openGl patch Application error

by Michael Barlo » Thu, 04 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I've seen some posts in the past but never bothered to read them
since I figured I wouldn't use the patch.  Now that I'm using it and am
having problems I cant find all those posts.

I downloaded the openGl patch and copied the one file to the GPL
directory. I edited the core.ini file.  Placed the glide2x.dll v.2.53 to
the gpl directory.  Rebooted, started GPL, changed from 3dfx to openGl,
closed GPL, restarted GPL.  before even the opening screen pops up I get
an Application error.  I tried the whole process over again and got the
same thing.

I did go back and edit the app.ini and have been able to change back
to 3dfx so I'm not out and races.

From what I understand, I *may* get a better performance out of my
machine by using opengl. So, If I can get that problem fixed....

Thanks in advance,
Mike Barlow

HELP!! GPL and openGl patch Application error

Aside from the obvious question of why you'd want to run the OpenGL
version when you already are running Glide, what primary video card do
you have, and what drivers do you have installed?
