Help! GPL/Voodoo2/Glide

Just got my Diamond Monster 3DII card. All I want to do is download the proper
Glide files. The only site I've found (through Voodoo) seems to require
something called Linux, or RPM, or some other such gobbledegook to install.

Is there anyone, anwhere, who can point me to a simple download of Glide 2.43
or better? I wanna get back to DRIVING!! :)

Thank you,
Trey Behan

Go to the www.3dfx.com site. Go to "drivers: Voodoo2" then look for your
card

Thank you...I've been there and seen that, and the drivers appeared to be for
the actual board. But I'll try it again.

Gratefully,

The 3Dfx site has two options for Voodoo drivers; either the card vendors
drivers (you'll be redirected to the Diamond site) or 3Dfx's own
"reference drivers. I think the ref. drivers will be the ones you want to
download. I use them for my Creative Labs card.

The ref. drivers install Glide version 2.54. This is a no-no when it comes to
GPL. So get the 2.53 Glide driver from
http://www.grandprix2.com/gpl/patches.htm and place that file in the GPL
directory. Then race away!!!

Why is 2.54 a no-no? I think the read-me says "2.53 or better." Don't want to
make a mistake; I've already downloaded Diamond's Glide 2.54 for Monster 3d II,
named: w9xm2207.exe. No install yet, though.

Thanks for your help. E-mail may be faster for you.

The problem is not the drivers. It is a heating problem. Underclock the
voodoo2 to the lowest setting. If your problems lesson then buy a fan. GPL
used to freeze up on me with any glide versions above 2.53. I installed a
fan from 3dfx Cool and now I am using the latest diamond drivers and directX
6.1 with the voodoo2 card clocked to the max at 95. No problems with GPL
anymore.

It might be both heating/overclocking and drivers.
If I run GPL with the 2.54 driver I get flickering squares in menus etc. Back
to 2.53, all is OK.
If I overclock my (Creative Labs) Voodoo 2 I can only run GPL for 30 seconds,
then It's good-night. Regardless of driver version.
