Please help me out here :)

The scenery seams to "jerk" alot on my v2...
I mean the framerate is "smooth" but sort of
"hangs" a few times a sec, just for a brief moment.

(note, this isnt all that notiseble,
but if the problem is there while running
with a full field of cars, and the framerate
drops.....i wouldnt want it to "studder".
A lower framerate yes, but even...)

Ive tried to run at different resolutions but
i get the same result in all of them....

Seams very strange, its like the game engine
isnt running even?

I also tried Forsaken Demo and others,
without any problems at all, they all are
smooth as silk.

For the Beta testers:
Is this "fixed" in the latest beta?

Does anyone else experience this problem?

Hi Again!

This Post Should be a little more informative :)

The scenery seams to "jerk" in GPL...
I mean the framerate is sort of "smooth" but "hangs"
or "skip" a few frames a sec.

(note, this isnt all that notiseble,
but if the problem is there while running
with a full field of cars, and the framerate
drops, I wouldnt want it to "studder".
A lower framerate YES, but it really should
be more even...)

Ive tried to run at different resolutions but
i get the same result in all of them....
Infact ive olso tried the Sofware mode,
and the problem is still there....

Seams very strange to me, its like the game engine
isnt running smoothly or even?

Have anyone encounterd this problem?

Ive also tried the Forsaken Demo and others,
without any problems at all, they all are
smooth as silk...

(Reminds me of a problem I had with the 3D
application "Strata Studio Pro 1.75", where
the 3D engine wasnt written to cope with
PAL and wasnt able to work in 25fps, only
30fps. So the result when watching a rendered
animation was very similar to what I see here....
To "solve" that problem Stratas 3D engine simply
"threw away" 5 frames a second...)

Anyway, this is THE sim, I will never go back
to my old sims, and i just cant wait for the release! ;)

I hope this is a BUG, so this doesnt spoil this Fantastic Sim...
Please get back to me on this :)

PII-300

.....no...No....NOOOO.....:(

This is NOT good...I would expect low framerates if I were running
software-mode,
but not with a PII-450 Voodoo2!?
I would even accept that the framerate drops now and than, but a
"Studdering"
game engine, in this wonderful groundbraking sim???
I cannot belive that they are gonna ship a "broken" game engine...and in
doing so,
they would probebly spoil what easely could have been the best game of all
time!

The most worrying part is that no betatester has neither confirmed or denyed
this very HUGE problem!

Hmmm, lets hope so! :)

Dial it down to 640x480 and you'll be able to bump the number of cars
up and maintain your framerate.

Naturlich - first of all it's not a problem when you have either the
manual or some experience with the sim, and secondly it's a pirated
warez beta version. Can you really imagine that any help should be
either expected or offered?

Cheers!

Well John, I am speaking of from my own experiences
with the DEMO......

My original intentions with this post was simply to get someone to tell me
what was wrong with my system (pII-333 64 meg Voodoo 2)
But since some very worrying reports from the some users, did infact
more or less confirm this problem, it have become a "life mission ;)",
to see this soon to be "groundbreaking" sim flawless!

IF the problem still exist in the Realese Version I will still by it,
but then i would really really like to see a patch for this....

I DO respect you John and others who makes this forum a great place to be,
and I sincerly hope that you re read my original post again....:)

Take Care!

[snip]

I did. No slight intended toward you, but the guy who's post you were
responding to had described the issues he had with and without AI,
which was clearly not a demo version. You mentioned no-one from the
beta team had stepped in to answer his questions and so I pointed out
why.

Sorry if that came across as saying that YOU were using the warez
version, that wasn't what was meant.

Cheers!
John
