HELP please GPL 1.1 problems

by Alain A. Genouill » Mon, 26 Jul 1999 04:00:00

I've installed the patch and enjoy some of of its features (redoing the
set ups is no fun, but the FF balances that). However I have some
"undesirable" side effects :
- On or off line, I have to recalibrate my wheel before I do anything.
It does not go directly to the joystick set up screen, its just that the
calibration is wrong when I start running. Any ideas ?
- On line : When I log on though GSB2 and join a race, my set up is not
shown FOR the race I want to race. There is not even a choice ... I have
to pick up the default set up. Note that I raced yesterday directly
through an IP address and I was able to "see" my set own set up .....
????

Please help !
Thanks.

Alain,

What sort of calibration problems do you have? I have a recurring one where
my steering needs to be recalibrated nearly every time I start GPL. I think
my problem is due a poor-quality steering pot on my homemade wheel. I have
not found a way around it, other than when I put a new pot in and
recalibrate in Windows, GPL seems to retain its calibration longer.

As for GSB... I noticed this once too. But here is a question.... do you
have more than one player? For example, I have an F3 and a GP player.
Sometimes the F3 player is selected as the default and I do not notice. Then
I get to the race and look for a setup, and it's not there... then I know I
probably selected the wrong player. Or, you might have selected a car for
which you do not have setups for.

Just a few thoughts... hope they help.
