ActLabs Force RS Vs Microsoft Sidewinder FF

I've read all the reviews I could find about these wheels, but I just
can't make up my mind! The confusing part is that in one review they
rate the Force RS real high and the Sidewinder not so good, then just
the opposite in another review.

So, what I'm looking for is feedback from people that own one or the
other (OR BOTH?!). Tell me what you hate and what you like about the
wheel and why I should buy it over the other one :)

Thanks for the help!

I owned a Force RS during one week, and took it back to the dealer to change
it for a Microsoft FF.

Reason : The pedals of the Force RS are real crap, with very bad accuracy,
even after lubricating them with vaseline oil. They grip when moving, due to
their stupid design (plastic and metal parts that stick together).

The Microsoft FF has force feedback effects that are not as good as the
Force RS, but it is a perfect tool, even with non FF games.

I am very satisfied with the MSFF. It is the best wheel i ever owned (I've
had a Thrustmaster T2, and a thrustmaster GP1 also before).

And i improved my laptimes with it :-)

I agree, I have the MS wheel and love it. I have heard good and bad things
about ACT Labs, but I can't say anything bad about the MS wheel. Nice
pedals, nice wheel, nice effects, and you can buy it at any computer store.
Just don't plan on using it on N2/NROS.

I recognize the problem. Last Tuesday I finally made a decission and now
I have a Sidewinder FF at home. I'm satisfied with the wheel so far.
Pedals feel good, both steering and pedals are accurate and installing
is a breeze.

Also one of the main reasons why I bought the Sidewinder is because it
has a virtual spring, which is very usefull in non FF sims like GPL.

Well.. I looked at both of them too.  I finally decided to buy the Logitech
Wingman FF wheel.
I am very pleased with it.  Unfortunately the ONLY complaint I have is that
the paddles behind the steering wheel are paddle shifters only (ex: ON/OFF
buttons).  I like to use them for my gas and brake... which is what I'm used
to with the Thrustmaster GP wheel.

I really like the look of the Logitech wheel.. and the wheel feels very
good.  I thought about taking the wheel back, but after playing Need For
Speed III: Hot Pursuit.  I am happy I got it.
Now all I need is a 35" monitor!!!!!

The MSFFW is just fine.  The pedals are wonderfull...

Just watch out if you race  bare-footed.  The back of the MSFFW pedals
are razor-sharp, and I actually cut my foot when I reached around the
back to pull the pedals closer to me...

A very good (and unfortunate) point.
