Microsoft,Logitech, ActLabs drivers (FF wheel)

by Norbert Dür » Thu, 05 Aug 1999 04:00:00

Hi folks,

My current setup is a regular joystick driver for my standard wheel
(home-built) and the Microsoft Sidewinder software for my Siderwinder 3D
pro joystick (for flight simulations).
For obvious reasons I want to add a FF wheel to my setup.

I'm currently undecided whether to buy a MSFF, LWFF or ACT Labs.

What I like about the MS wheel is the TRUE digital setup, meaning not
only the data transmission to the PC but also the optical sensors for the
steering wheel. The other two have pots internally.

However, I was wandering whether the already installed Sidewinder
software will cause problems with additional drivers (Logitech or
ActLabs).

Has anybody a setup with two different drivers and how does it perform?

Thanks a bundle,
        Norbert

I have the Sidewinder software and also an ACT LABS Force RS wheel
living happily together.

My Sidewinder 3D pro crashed badly with the LWFF software...... so I went
and got a Logitech Wingman joystick, now no problem....

Sounds pretty promising to me.
Thanks a lot for the info.
