Pentium II DMA transfer speed?

I currently have a PPro 233/256k and a SM P6SNE board and have noticed the
processor suffers from horrible DMA transfer rates, especially with the
Rendition-based 3d chipsets (worse than my P100).  I have a 3DFX-based board as
well, but there are certain titles I'm interested in which only use the
Rendition chipset.  Does the PII 300 have a DMA transfer rate comparableor
better than the P200, or is the architecture the same as the PPro?

Also, are the PII 300s available yet?
What is the best mobo for the PII?

Another question I'd like to know the answer to is - do you need to
use a utility like Fastvid with the new 440LX motherboards?
