Help needed: Pentium Pro 150 vs. Pentium 133, 166, 200 and MMX

Hi everyone,
I have posted about my dilemma before, but just to quickly bring
everyone up to speed here's a quick summary.

I currently have a Pentium 100 system that is barely adequate for
running Nascar 2. I tried to use the Intergraph card but it doesn't like
my older motherboard. Also, because I have an older Socket 5 Pentium I
can't just buy a new ASUS board and plug my old 100 chip and the Reactor
into it.

Now here's where I need your help and input.

So, the other day I bought a Computer Shopper looking for a good deal on
a new ASUS motherboard and Pentium 133 chip. In doing this research I
found that the Pentium Pro 150 chip is selling for as little as a
Pentium 150, sometimes less (around $279) With that in mind would it
really make since to go with any Pentium when a Pro system (although a
150) can be had for less. Granted an ASUS P6 board is about $120 more
than the P5 board.

I will be running Win95, NT, Photoshop, Office 95, etc. in addition to
the racing Sims. (N1, N2, ICR2, GP2) and hopefully the Reactor card. (I
hope they get the NT driver soon)

I am interested in everyones thoughts on this.

BTW, a good friend says I should just grin and bear it for awhile and
watch the chip prices drop.

Thanks.

Hello,
Hope this is of some help. I just picked up a P200 with 64Mg
ram and a 4Mg Diamond 3d card.
N2 screams even with all graphics on, only thing is that it locks on
re-entering Win95 so I have to run dos session.

Go for the 133 if you are planning on saving money.  I think you will
get a better bus speed with the 133 over the 150.  Get yourself a
motherboard that will handle 75-83mhz bus speeds and MMX. This way you
can wait for the higher priced CPU's to drop and you will be able to
enjoy your "souped" up performance in the mean-time.   With the
Intergraph card you should get decent performance in NASCAR2 and
excellent peformance in ICR2.  With GP2, well you will get just about
the same performance the rest of the world gets.
