I just upgraded my P90 to a P166 and need to know
how much graphs do you run and where do you set your frame rate.

Thank you

I upgraded my P100 to a P166 and I put all graphics on auto, except for
the skid marks.  I set the minimum frame rate at 24 and leave the upper
bound to 27. I picked 24 for lower bound since that's roughly the area
where the human eye/brain combo perceives constant motion.  Mind you
that I have no way of knowing if the machine ever falls below 24 (I
suspect it does) but if it does the motion is still decently smooth.

Regards,
John

I have 38 cars drawn ahead, 4 behind, and 3 heard.

I have car textures, skids/paint, smoke/dirt, and objects on, and everything
else turned off.  Asphalt, grass and object textures aren't necessary to race,
and the horizon isn't needed either.

The most import things are a) highest possible framerate, b) ability to see
accidents far enough in advance, and c) ability to identify cars by car
number.  Everything else is gravy in NCR1.

If you haven't seen ICR2 on a Rendition-equipped system yet, make it a point
to do so.  I run with EVERYTHING on, and its' just as smooth as NCR1 with
nothing turned on.  It's really too bad that Sierra didn't port their sims for
the Vooddoo chipset (it's far superior to the Renidtion stuff), but that's
life, and lots of games will be all the better for any 3D support that might
be implemented.
