I think you haven't got the premise for these races straight.

The way I understand it, the whole idea behind setting up these races was
for those in RAS who are/were not quite that familiar with NASCAR racing and
were scared off by the N4 online climate to be able race and learn from
those more experienced without having to worry about their wrath and for
both to race away from the wreckers which ruin pick-up racing.

If you were expecting some super elite, better than real life racing
extravaganza then that's most unfortunate.

I agree the Pocono race was pretty bad, but, from what little NASCAR
coverage we get here, I gather the Pro's have races like that too.

BTW: what rule, written or otherwise, covers how much distance one should
leave if there's an invisible car between one's car and the next competitor
ahead?

Besides,
ZZ Busch thought it was all his fault so shhhhh. :-)

Hey!!!
I did feel bad hitting you. But I did get help. I think I would've missed
you if not for the tap. But that's Nascar racing.

I think I'll stay out of these RAS races for a while, until the "kiddies"
learn the rules, and how to race under them.  ...lol...

TP

Now that just stinks of snobbery. I learn more racing with veterans then
rookies. Driving lines, pit stategy, etc.
The first few races with a new group is always a learning experience. How
people drive etc.

Tom, that was a silly thing to say. I think you have to do some catching up
on some of the 'driver agreed' rules, too.

Achim

At least it wasn't a 10 page diatribe!!  LOL

In which way is this different from the two roadcourses we'd already
succesfully absorbed? -Or from any roadcoarse in GPL for that matter? To
paraphrase JPM "Just 3 turn, each with clearly defined brake markers... how
difficult can it be?"

I will agree to this one... the corners are of the "wait a while"-type.
Seems to take forever before you can get the power down again. No question
the NASCAR veterans were able to keep more speed up than I was,
unfortunately some couldn't imagine anybody going any slower.

Tracks were announced a week ago. That said, to practise I went from memory
and only discovered after the Pocono race I had practised the wrong speedway
(Darlington instead of C***te) and I went into the 2nd race cold. Don't
think anybody really noticed, though.

What does "check up" mean? Does it mean braking early? I have no idea. I
wasn't into the wall at all though (as can be seen from the helicopter view)
I braked late and stayed wide, leaving the "ideal line" open until we get
close to the apex. I did that on every lap with T3 except when I passed
someone on the inside. Right up close to the wall on entry but never hitting
it. I basically follow the ideal line Papy shows with the "r" key except I
brake a bit later and I go slightly wider and deeper before going for the
apex. I do the same thing on entry to all three corners at Pocono actually.
The replay shows you getting hit hard from behind and then basically shot
into me.

All the races so far have had yellows enabled, so I set that one up the same
way.

"Kiddies"?  Why do you insist on being such a jerk, Tom?  You seem to get a
delight out of others' misfortunes.  The fact that I'm slow doesn't mean that I
shouldn't be racing, does it?  Most of my races I *do* end up running solo,
whether it's Nascar or GPL.
Tell you what...you can stay out of ALL of my races...it's fine by me.

In other words, you didn't trust me restarting in front of you.  That makes me

What I mean by "yellows" is accidents.

There's not a thing in the world wrong with the fast setup for Pocono.
It's amtter of playing with the hand you're dealt, and adjusting your
driving style.  I think the problem was that some people didn't practice
as much as others. I ran three 30-lpa races offline, and I think it paid
off if you ignore the two brain farts I had.

You don't get incident points for causing an incident, you get them if
you're *involved* in one, whether you're the cause or not.  The game has
no way of knowing who caused it.
