While waiting on GP3, I've been trying to optimize the sounds in MGPRS2
and have come along way. But one thing I would really like to do is get
the awesome sound of an F1 car shifting to the next gear. I've got the
downshifts, which I've tied to some backfire loops (which sounds much
more like the real thing than any of the whoosh sounds I've found
online). But I can't find any sound events triggered by the upshifts.
As near as I've been able to figure, you can tie two different sounds
(if you want) to whenever you are accelerating or decelerating - as
determined by the accelerator pedal. This is a start in the right
direction. But what I'd really like is for the sound tied to the
acceleration phase to re-start at the beginning of the sound whenever an
up-shift occurs. I think I could either find, or modify an existing
sound, that would work well under these circumstances, and get a better
sound.
Does anybody know if this is possible or not, and if so, can you give me
the information I need to make it happen?
