Ya missed the smiley ;-)

Actually Im not saying it's bad, but my relations with Ubisoft have been soo
bad.. and they seem to always do things wrong when they want to do it right,
you need to go see them to understand Ronald ;)

I never though that a playtester could work on a racing project without
having racing knowledge, but it seems Ubi knows how to do it <g>. And I
won't comment more on the sound, menu, physics, game engine, track
accuracies, bugs, etc..

But of course, it's the best modern F1 sim.

Installing the gp2 sounds from the most excellent rs2 site

http://www.mgprs.com

helps a bit with the crappy sound.

Cheers,

Yes, the sounds are that bad.  And chances are you'll have serious sound
bugs/problems, too.

Marc.

I finally drove the demo, and have to agree with the general consensus here-
it's real good. The only thing I want to know is: Please tell me the sound
in the final release is nothing like the Atari-sounding demo. The cars sound
awful. Can someone with the Euro release answer this?

Oh yeah Marc, and what 'serious sound problems/bugs' are they in 1.03? If 3D
sound is switched off I don't think there are any problems.

Not Marc.  But I'll answer.  I still don't have sound in replay mode with
1.03, Glide, Montego w hardware accel off.  How does one switch the 3D sound
off (or "on" for that matter)?

David,
If you go to the sound configuration and press the test button. If you are
set to 4HP then you know you are on 3D sound. To switch it off, put the
following in your Snd_cpa.ini file :
[DLL_Test]
File0=WAVX2

[DLL_Sxd]
Unconditionnal=None
File0=WAVX2

Default=WAVX2

OK?
By the way, there is no sound in replays yet. Unbelievable that they didn't
do this after all the fuss in F1RS.

Yep, I stand corrected. Sorry for the typo.
