MGPRS2 No in car Sound?

by Jim Mulle » Thu, 29 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Having difficulty getting sound in the car (the only place it really
matters). Works fine in menus and loading tracks. Nothing in car. Have a
Turtle Beach Montego PCI which works fine with F1RS so I'm stumped.
Tried modifying snd_cpa.ini which got me to a WIN 95 sound config
without surround sound but that doesn't work either. Tried installing
new Montego drivers and trashed the card set-up requiring a complete
re-install of Montego so am still using original drivers. Anyone have
any ideas?  Everyone seems to be concentrating on GPL at the moment. I
am hitting this hard also but I would like to get my variety back.
Suzuka is this weekend. TIA

I had similar probs with the demo.  Don't have the full release.  FWIW, I too
have a Montego, hmmmm.  Sometimes I got sound in the car, but 90% of the time,
not.  Also, before I changed to wavpx2 (or from?), it would crash in the
opening slideshow.

Oh, the new montego drivers managed somehow to slow my machine down!  Went
from 225 mHz to a Wintune readout of 200!  Yes, I noticed it was running
slower.  So I'm back to the original drivers.  Strange.
