Whats the best graphics card available at the moment for sub 100.00

When I say "best" I mean for *** use mainly, not CAD, etc.

Games used will be GPL, GP3 & GP4, F12002, Return to castle wolfenstein,
GTA3, etc.

Thanks.

You can probably get a Geforce 2 Ti 200 for that - perhaps a Ti500.

Avoid Geforce 4 MX's. Despite the name - they're slower than the above

GeForce3 Ti200

Probably the best card right now for the price/performance ratio

I'll part with the nvidia fans and say get a Radeon8500.  Its $99US for the
'fullspeed' non-LE oem version.

The fastest GF2 card I've seen is the eVGA GF2 Ultra (part #
064-A4-NV27-R1): under $100 U.S., described here:

For $134 + $10 s/h you can grab a GF4 ti4200 64MB.  Go here to look but call
for price http://www.racesimcentral.net/
VDINOB555G4TI42AX0X.   Yeah yeah it's not sub $100 but very close.  Skip
lunch for a few days and youre set :)

Or if you want sub $100 then you can pick up a GF3 ti200 for $90 here

He was limiting himself to 100 Pounds. not dollars.  Obviously a UKer so
all we need to do to find out how much he can afford in America is...
take the 100 multiply by 1.6.  Then subtract shipping, handling, The tax the
British because can fee, and of course the devaluation of the dollar do to
Euro buying.  So we can now figure out that he can afford, If purchasing in
America.  One slighty used Hercules Rendition 4 meg Verite` card.  Nascar 2
and ICR2 will just run blinders on that....enjoy mate!

Hehe, wondered what that funny lookin L was :)  Sorry to all you UK'ers for
my ignorance :)  Actually what the heck is a pound?  Pound of what?  Not at
all being sarcastic just curious. Example,  Nails (yes fasteners) used to be
sold by the penny hence a 10penny nail size gives you 10 nails for a penny
:)  Or at least used to.  ---->>>> Cliff Claven goes back into hiding now :)

<snip>

http://www.dabs.com/products/bgrade.asp

has a "GeForce3Ti 200 64MB DDR AGP RP" which is a warranty
replacement but otherwise fine (with packaging & manuals) for 99.75
inc VAT. UK prices for grfx cards are amazingly inflated compared to
US ones, regrettably :-(

Okay, seeing as how you asked (I hope all the symbols come out OK on
US computers or else I'm done for!):

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "originally, a pound of
silver". The sign is, indeed, a curly letter L (from the Roman
measure "libra" - see also the scales Libra carries and so on).

It's also from "libra" that we get the standard (British, anyway)
abbreviation for a pound weight, "lb". We virtually always refer to
"#" as "hash sign" in the UK, so it gets highly confusing when an
American refers to it as a "pound sign" - comething completely
different over here!

"David Buttery"
Hmmm, here in the US the Hash mark isn't on a keyboard....  :)

Wait Dave, now I'm totally confused...  If I understood DB then the "Hash
key" is what I call a "Pound key" or # (shift-3)  The funny looking L (or
what you all call the pound sign) isn't on my KB.  Oh nevermind...  LOL

Skip the GF3 and below.  Either go with a Radeon 8500, or a GF4 (non MX)
to ensure decent future ability.
