The test reports on the Matrox Parhelia are starting to trickle out (the
viel of silence lifted today), and it doesn't look real promising so far.
Just about everything out there is kicking it's ass, with the exception of a
couple of tests. Since they are coming out with this at the tail end of the
Radeon 8500 life-cycle, and the NV30 isn't far behind, this does not bode
well for Matrox when it comes to hard-core ***.
Technologically, the card is a marvel. But, that monstrous 80 million
transister chip is keeping the clock speeds down, and it is showing badly.
I'm looking to replace my Ti500, but it's so hard to do anything right now
with the Radeon R250/R300 coming out soon.
Oh, and there is a _rumor_ of ATI Price Drops this week in preparation of
the release of the new stuff...
