Notice when in the multiplayer chat room, there is a menu on the top
right that says Racers.. If you click that, you also see Buddies and
Spectators. Any idea what these two greyed out options are for?
It's pure Public relation and marketing hype ;-)
They advertised this option a long time ago for High Stakes. It was
supposed to have a spectator mode, as I could call it. It's a simple idea,
just watch other race instead of racing. IIRC the difference between
buddies and spectators is that buddies can only watch you.
Of course, they haven't got time for it and rushed the title out, so instead
of taking all the references off the title they just grayed it out, so that
some people will hope that it will be in a patch, or possibly in a next
version.
