Do you apply any add-ons to the sim? You have probably already checked but
are your sound drivers up to date. Oh yeah and what OS are you using,
probably Win98 since you have a PIII.

I don't have that sound card buy have had that problem once. I reinstall of
gpl and the patch fixed it for me.

Sorry I couldn't be more help but with your system spec's up maybe someone
can.

I too have the same problem you have.  I believe its the soundcard and perhaps
win95.  I have the soundblaster64 pci sound card and win95b, p2-233, 64mb ram.
Latest drivers and GPL patch.  hth

Sound problem with gpl 1.1

by Andre Warrin » Wed, 04 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I have win98, PII450, and the SBLive with the latest drivers.
I have the same problem too.
A couple of weeks ago I completely reinstalled windows.
My real time problem with GPL was gone, I was very happy with that,
but the sound problem stayed.
And after a week or so, the real time problem was back again :(

Can't wait for the patch-patch...

Well try using a fresh install & patch situation. And I suspect
your W98 problems were because you upgraded over your
W95 installation. W98 needs a fresh install as well.

  Same problem here as well.
DELL PII 450, 12MB Monster Voodoo II, Turtle Beach Montego PCI Sound card,
128MB Ram, GPL 1.103.
Maybe I should try to upgrade my sound card drivers...  Sound 'bug' is a
lot easier to cope with than the timing problem :((

Same system as yours but with a V3 2000, and same problem. Its annoying if
your trying to have a 'quiet'  race late at night. I reinstalled GPL and 1.1
without any patched sound files and still get the problem, a very, very loud
high pitched shriek when the screen goes black.
