Hasbro, and specifically Ed, forget about your 3 month late patch.
After trying the N4 demo, I am sure a lot are like me.  I will just
wait until February for N4.
There is just no comparison. You can rank your game up there with
Nascar Revolution.
N4 will be perfect out of the box, mark my words. You won't have to
wait 3-4 months for a patch to fix things that should have been fixed
before the game was even released.
Sorry Ed. If I were you I wouldn't even waste money on a Nascar Heat
2.  I for one will never buy another version of Nascar Heat. Papy is
and always will be the king of Nascar sims.

Wow,  "N4 will be perfect out of the box, mark my words. You won't
have to wait 3-4 months for a patch to fix things that should have
been fixed before the game was even released."

That quote alone shows your pure ignorance. Go ***yourself, do us
all a favor.

<>    There is just no >     N4 will be perfect out of the box, mark my
words. You won't have to

   Well lets see....
ICR Multiplayer patch took about 6 months
ICR2 needed 3 patches
N2 had at least one patch
N3 had about 3 months of patching
NL same patch process as N3
N3 Trucks had a patch released BEFORE the game shipped.
GPL has two official and two unofficial patches
still wanna bet it will be perfect right out of the box?....(see Eric's
reply to the MSFF wheel problem)
Thats just off the top of my head...I'm sure somebody could fill in the
blanks
NH is a major advancement in Nascar physics.  At this point it is THE most
sophisticated Oval driving experience.  (notice I did NOT say racing)
Heat deserves our respect,...they beat Papyrus out the door with a fantastic
looking and driving sim.  Now I do believe N4 will be the Nascar title of
choice...but I also beleive lots and lots of N3 zealots will take one look
at the
realistic handling of N4 and go running back to Tally with N3.

I love NH for its graphics and modeling.
Among flightsims and racingsims, NH is at the top IMO.
I'd buy any sequel to NH title. Papyrus is good with its
GPL ofcourse, however, I've bought the accelerated N3 pack and disdained.
Graphics are nowhere near NH. Modeling is ok. AI is
terrrible.  I felt cheated.  I'll probably get N4 after trying
demo and reading reviews but NH sequel would get
my money for sure if they keep the level of quality in
graphics and modeling, to me the graphics engine was topnotch
equal to that of Jane's WW2F in its time . Superb algorithm.
They must have on the team some  physicist/mathematitian or
some super bright kid to handle all the equations and transforming
matrixes of that engine that is head and shoulder above the competitors.
Racing door handle to door handle in NH with the AI is total immersive
for me. In stereoscopic, it's a whole new experience that even GPL is
pale in comparison. Of course all is in my humble opinion.

Never fear -- I will be saving that quote for posterity, and to make
sure that I have a appropriate reference when I get to say "I told you
so."  Of course, there's a good chance that "Matt" won't see it because
he will most likely be curled up in a fetal position, drooling in the
dark with his beloved copy of N4, but that's the chance I'm willing to
take.

You're kidding right?  Has ANY program(released in the last 5 years) been
"perfect out of the box"?  Meaning, no bugs, no feature that people want - but
weren't put in, no hardware/software conflicts, NOTHING?  I'd probably get N4
too, but I don't expect it to be *perfect*.  That's just setting yourself up
for a letdown...

Err, yes. I understand. Been using it since 1988, but I don't really see
your point...?

I guess I get a little annoyed seeing people blatantly rubbing developers
noses in it and seeing those developers flee one after the other. Ed
Martin is just the latest casualty.

Cheers,
Rod.

If the developers cannot handle a little bit of negative feedback then they
are in the wrong business. What makes a game great is all the input good or
bad, and the developers taking that info and designing what the buyers want.

They have to learn to take the good with the bad, after all this is the real
world when it comes down to money...
