Forget the patch

After nearly five months of waiting for a patch for N2, I ve noticed a
couple of things.
First of all, the utilities on the net (like those at the pits) are
improving the game.
Second these utilities on the 'net are alot better than anything put out
by Sierra.
I'm guessing that in a coulple more months people will develop the fixes
we want. (save game, spotter fix, etc...)
So forget Sierra.
Its amazing what is being done to enhance the game by those who care.

Look guys, the little utilities that we write are trivial compared to the
effort it would take to add a Save Game or any of the other major fixes you
want.

The amusing thing is that none of the whining around here is going to have
any effect on when the patch is released. If you take everyone who ever
posted on RAS, it is stil a tiny blip in the stats compared to the number
of copies of NASCAR 2 that have been sold so far.

It's also funny to read all the stories about how Sierra has ruined Papyrus
and forced them to ship NASCAR 2 early. As has been pointed out here
several times, that decision was left in the hands of Papyrus management.

And of course, the money-grubbing theory: All they're after is your money.
I've got news for you: Money is what paid for the development of NASCAR 2,
and the money you paid for N2 will fund the development of NASCAR 3. If
they had held up NASCAR 2 until it had all the features that everyone has
demanded, they'd simply be out of business and you'd have no NASCAR at all.

I don't know why Papyrus management sold out to Sierra, but as a small
business owner myself, I can guess. They saw the future of ***, and
realized that they didn't have the funding and the distribution to compete
against EA, Microprose, Sony and a host of other major companies. So they
aligned themselves with one of the few big game companies that didn't
already have a racing title. It's even possible that NASCAR told them that
in order to get the NROS contract, they needed major backing.

Oh well, 'nuff said. You can all start whining again.

Yes, and how much of the original management was left?   You are
correct though, no matter how much ***ing we do, it isn't going to
get the patch any sooner.

If so trivial then why doesn't Papy have it's web site set up with
some of these
trivial utilities.  Alot of Papy promotion is being lost by no web
site support.

       (

What's really amusing is listening to you Papy wanna-bees
consisting defending
Papy............and why?  I don't think Papy is losing any sleep
over
        us complaining about a patch.
