N2 Vote -to patch, or not to patch?

I have downloaded and not yet installed the patch.  There are others out here
in the same boat.  Those of you who have installed it, should we?  A yes or no
in the subject header should make this a pretty efficient thread.....

I installed the patch and haven't had one problem with it.  I haven't raced
every track yet, but the AI seems to be alot nicer at the tracks they
fixed.  Could be that I haven't had the problems that alot of people are
having because I have the Sierra's 3D card and I'm running Rendition Mode.

Yes, patch it.  If you are one of the lucky ones, things will only
improve.  If it turns out that you have a combination of
hardware/software that is causing some of the "joystick" interface
problems, simply re-copy the NASCAR2.EXE and NASREND.EXE files from your
CD-ROM over the patched versions on your harddrive.  If you experience
the Green border at Night C***te, copy the
TRACKS\NCHRLTTE\NCHRLTTE.DAT file from your CD-ROM onto your harddrive.

Know one can know in advance who will be affected by the gremlins in the
patch and who won't.  You will have to try to find out.

I know that we see alot of complaining about the patch and there are
alot of people who were adversely affected by the gremlins in this
patch.  But overall, we got a good deal with Papyrus's attempt to
address some of the more glaring problems with the original release.  As
a matter of fact, if the patch works on one's system it should be called
an enhancement, not a patch.  Since the "save game" feature is an added
component to the sim.  It may have been a "bug" for Papyrus not to
included it in the original release, but the lack of a "save game"
feature was not a bug in the software.

Instal the thing.  As long as you have the origional CD, there really isn't
any risk.  Just make sure you backup your favorite setups, J.I.C.

Who knows, you may get lucky.

While I too feel he should patch it,  your reason for doing so is
incorrect.  I am experencing the same problems as everyone else is,  and
NONE of my files were patched prior.

Sorry to keep harping on the subject ( as opposed to whining ), but I
resent the implications that the bug is the result of my ignorance.  There
is a problem with the results of the patch on some systems.  Mine just
happens to be one of those affected.  If you system isn't affected, don't
sit there looking down your noses at the rest of us...  you just got
lucky.

Of coarse patch it, theres no problems if you didn't use any 3rd party
utility. Doesnot includethose cocpit changes or thing like that.

I wouldn't, if you are an online racer. I've had bad crashes with Kali.
