I bought LWFF this friday. I like the wheel, it's
great, it feels great.
Profiler (software that comes with it) is very good.
As for the pedals, I have read many bad reviews about
them, but would like to say I like them. Travel is not
to short, and the resistance is perfect.
My wheel is "new" revision (one with Sports Car GT
in red box).
Tried it with: Driver, NFS-HS, MGPRS2, Re-Volt and
had no problems.
The wheel is very precise.

I recommend it.

And now, for the question: Should I unplug the AC/DC
adapter when not in use? Does the motor always run when
it's conected to the AC/DC adapter? Thanks.

I leave mine plugged in, but only because I hate to crawl under the desk
everytime I turn the computer on and off. Logitech should have made a
switch on the dashboard. I guess the motor is always powered when
connected but the wheel seems none the worse for it.

Bye,

Nope, mine is always plugged in.  Big guy like me has a helluva time
getting under the desk the first time just to hook it up.  Sure not
gonna KEEP doing it.  ;-)

LWFF question

I am using my LWFF in USB mode. I plug it into a strip outlet which has
an on off switch.

If I'm using my joystick playing flight sims and decide to try a racing
sim, I turn the outlet on - the wheel automatically calibrates and the
LWFF wheel becomed my primary joystick device. Heck, if I try and run a
flight sim with my wheel on, the game will not detect my joystick
(plugged into a MX-300 gameport).

So when you ask do you unplug it when not in use, I'm thinking, "Not
when the computer's off but surely when I want to use the joystick!"

Is there ssomething I'm doing wrong?

I can feel centering spring emulation even if the PC is turned off,
and also noticed it moves slightly the moment I unplugg it. I think
the motor is always running. If not, it's no problem for the
electronics to be powered 24 h/day.

I bought this wheel just yesterday, and so far I think it's great. I think
I'll unplug the adapter when my computer's turned off for a long time. But I
have another question:

Should my computer be turned off if I want to unplug / plug in the wheel? So
let's assume I've just used the wheel in some game, and now I want to get it
out of the way to make room for the keyboard. Is it safe to pull out the
cable of the steering console, when the the computer (and the Wingman's
AC/DC adapter for that matter) is still on? Is there a definite right and
wrong order in which to hook up / disonnect devices like this?

I just leave mine plugged in, it sits a little off to one side, don't
have to disconnect it for the keyboard, but if I want to use a joystick,
I have to change the sticks in the game controller section of the
control panel.  no biggee.
