LWFF - question about spring modification

by steve cov » Sat, 14 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I am still looking for appropriate springs to do the spring modification for
gas and brake pedals...
that is replacing the existing springs with heavier springs of same
diameter.

I am from australia and Bunnings stock the CSC (Century Spring Corp) range
of springs...
these are made in USA (Los Angeles)... Is there a spring in their range that
people have used to
do the modification?  which one?

Any aussies that have done this modification?  What springs did you use?

thanks

LWFF - question about spring modification

I wish I could help you out here.  I replaced my springs and it was tough to
find a pair to fit.  The easiest thing to do is to bring the original springs
with you and compare them in the store.  Remember that you'll want to use a
lighter spring for the accelerator, I find that the original brake spring inside
the original accelerator spring gives just the right amount of resistance for
the accelerator.

Another worthwhile upgrade (IMO) is get a set of pedal covers for the pedals.  I
bought an inexpensive pair from an automotive supply store and they greatly
enhance the feel of the pedals.  I've purchased two pair of covers in the past
year (for my car and LWFF) and both bolt on the same way.  I'm guessing that the
way they***on is fairly standard, so any set of covers should fit.

Good luck... After the spring replacement and the pedal covers the pedals work
FANTASTIC and look great too.
