before, let alone one with FF. I tried it first on NFSIII. I still need to
do some tweaking but so far, so good. It's kinda hard to control the car at
slow speeds, though.
F1RS was good as well, thought there's not as much force feedback as far as
I can tell; even with it turned all the way up. Funny thing; my sound would
cut out most of the time with the wheel.
I was really looking forward to using the wheel with Viper, but it won't
recognize it. If I go to the game controllers panel, it shows that my
xterminator is the active controller. If I click on the Force RS, and then
on properties, everything checks out OK. However, when I get to the game,
and go to the controls option, it lists my Xterminator. If I click on the
steering wheel icon, nothing happens, since Viper already thinks the
Xterminator is a wheel. Any suggestions?
The Xterminator is on the gameport, and the wheel is on the serial port.
One other thing, can I have two peripherals hooked to the same serial port?
Because I just got a DexDrive for my Playstation, and it hooks to the serial
port. Would a "y" adapter work?
Other than that, the wheel was easy to hook up and install. Build quality
seems to be very high, except for the "F1-style" shifters, which are pretty
flimsy, and too far away from the rim for someone with small hands. The
Saitek's paddles are great. I wish the RS's shifter's were more like that.
Force feedback with the included demo is great. The earthquake will really
rattle your desktop!
Feedback with NFSIII was very good, if not excellent. I have heard that
Viper's is just as good.
