According to the review someone posted here, this wheel won't fit on
desks over 1 3/4 inches thick? What were they thinking? The lip on
mine is 2 1/4". Guess it won't work..? The Thrustmaster wheels
always fit fine. Will the LWFF fit?

The LWFF clamps have a spread of 2 3/8 inches (62mm), so you shouldn't have
a problem.

Hello,
My desk at home is pretty thick too. If you are a little tricky, you
can sometimes angle the wheel upwards and slide it in. This way, you
can get it over thicker lips.
