SPYBOY2/GPL 1.1 help needed

by Gary Kuche » Thu, 15 Jul 1999 04:00:00

greetings race fans...well I am all patched up....everything was
fine.....until I patched the new Spyboy2 and now everytime I run the sim
I am forced to recalibrate my wheel every single time I either host or
run the game off line.I'm using a NAscar Sprint wheel..and all thier
latest drivers...this problem occurs no matter what input drivers I use
in GPL...generic or direct and quite frankly I am puzzled as to why this
may be happening. So I need some input from others as to how this can be
solved if in fact it already has.
My install of the new GPL and spyboy2(with the patch as well) were made
by the way on a complete clean install of everything including a defrag
of my hard drive(in case you were wondering).

Kudos out to the team of developers that bring us these new toys but it
sure can be a pain in the steering wheel when it brings up these
unexpected workabouts.

thanks for your time and hope to see a fix for this soon.....

enjoy!!

With all the other releases of GSB, if you clicked on "host" or "join"
and then minimized GSB, you would have to re-calibrate the controller.

Just make sure you *do not* minimize GSB.

I know this may sound dumb of me but now doesnt spyboy do the minimizing
of GSB on it's own?

it will do that by it self.  But, if just before the "loading GPL"
window pops up, (only 3 seconds between pressing the button and the
window), If you manually minimize GSB this problem will occur.
Obviously, you are not as dumb as I am because I still manually do this
from time to time with out thinking ;-)
