F1 2002 freezes on Hungaroring

by Rolf Weseman » Tue, 30 Jul 2002 23:18:31

Hi,

yesterday, I drove some laps on the Hungaroring. Each lap was ended by a
freeze, where the picture stands and the sound is*** in one loop. I
checked the bios, all was ok. I checked direct x 8.1, also ok.

On the Hockenheimring were no freezes! I remember also no freezes in Magny
Cours. In other games (GPL) were no freezes, so I think it is no
temperature-problem.

What is the problem?

My system:
Athlon 1200
Asus Geforce 4 Ti 4200
384 MB of RAM
Win ME

Thanks in advance,

Rolf

I would think you are correct about it not being a heat or hardware
problem.  My 'GUESS' is that you have a corrupt sound or graphic file that
is loaded on the fly at about the end of the lap.  Or at least not called
til then.   I haven't looked at the way the game is packed on the cd, but
try copying all the Hungaroring folder over from the cd and also, once again
if possible, the sound folder.  If that doesn't help...try a complete
uninstall, delete any remaining folders and then re-install.
good luck

I made a new install of directX 8.1, after deleting the same one with
dxbuster - it seemed to work. I made a test with some of the cars: Sauber,
Renault, Jordan, and it went well.

I hope, that was it ;-))
