Hey is it just me or is everyone going to have to shell out $3000 just
to play Microsoft's latest foray into the Auto-Sim market?
P2-300mhz and V2200/Voodoo2 combo with all bells and whistles  $3000+

I'll stick with N2 on my P166/Rendition, can't afford to play in Bill
Gates sandbox I guess!

If you have a web site join the anti-MS folks, and lock out IE users!

LONG LIVE COMPETITION!

The game runs great on my cheap P133 and Monster 3D card. I'm running my
system at good setting and with everything turned off but dash. The game
runs great and looks great. I think the monster can be had for $150 with an
additional rebate which makes it even cheaper. A P133 can be had for about
$150 or cheaper. So that means you can have a CART system for about $300.
That is allot less than $3000.

Thanks
John

Naww, I think what their telling us is we have to have a fast computer, but
MUST have a 3dfx card. Like you, I'll stick with my Nascar 2 and Icr2 with
my v1000 rendition chip card.

Cool, you found a bug and now Terminal Reality can fix it. Fortunately CART
has rain conditions at all. If I remember correctly most other sims don't.
Maybe the rain tires will be fixed in the first patch, maybe in a second, or
maybe in version 2.0. At least they are trying to make the game as realistic
as possible. They may not get it perfect the first time but with your
feedback and others they will be able to concentrate on the areas that need
work and we will have one awesome simulation.

Oh yeah....100%, I have a P200MMX, 64mb. + 4mb graphics etc. +wheel and
pedals..... GP2, IndyII and Nascar1/2 brillant.  CART is dreadful.  MS
have lost there way on this one!!!  They should have dug a bit deeper
into there piggy bank and hired some one like Geoff Crammond (GP2) to do
a proper job!  Probably could'nt afford him.  Shame.  Imagine, Geoff
Crammond, MS, loads of dosh, big production team.....= GP3......:-)
Dream on.........zzzzzzzzzzz

Hold it there my friend...&nbsp;&nbsp; A better browser product ?????&nbsp;&nbsp;
If you consider crashing as much as a demolition derby at the local fairgrounds
a better product... then ok.&nbsp;&nbsp; I am NOT a MS hater or whatever
you want to call it...&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; but I have had nothing but problems
running IE and it crashes every so often on certain java applied sites.&nbsp;&nbsp;
NEVER had that problem with Netscape 4.0&nbsp; (YES... I currently us Netscape
Communicator... and love it!!!)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Better browser is still
being determined...&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; but i resent the hell out of Microsoft
cramming the product down our throats by mandating all manufacturers who
sell units with Winblows95 include IE.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The first thing
I did when I got my new computer was download Communicator and made in
my primary browser.

<P>I am not a MAC fan by any means...&nbsp; never owned one..&nbsp; but
i hope they make a comeback and force MS to start producing better products
with less glitches and start paying more attention to the consumer.&nbsp;
Again... MS makes alot of great products..&nbsp; I own many of them (couldnt
live without Office 97 at work or home!)..&nbsp; but done force the product
down our throats.

<P>My .02 of ***ing for today I suppose =)&nbsp; (did I get off topic
here or what!!!)

JH,
No, you don't need 3,000 dollars to play the game. What you need to do is
not listen to the same 20 idiots on this newsgroup who seem to be
professional complainers. They know who they are and will probably not be
able to resist responding to my posting, unless they actually use the 3
brain cells they have left and can control their urges to b---h.

Oh no, no, please - not the reverse psychology?!? If I respond to your
post then I'm an idiot, and if I don't respond to your post then I
_could_ be an idiot, albeit one with a number of brain cells other
than three? :)

Well, last night my three brain cells and I dragged themselves over to
a mate's house to try the gold version of CPR, and between us we
managed a 1:25.9 around Surfer's Paradise. One of my brain cells must
then have gone all artistic on me because it said "Hey, why don't we
try it in the rain and see what all those spiffy effects are like?",
GREAT idea! On goes the rain, all nice and slidy and impossible to
control on slicks. "Let's put some wets on" said brain cell number
two, so I did - and, to my surprise, managed a 1:25.1, on a supposedly
rain-soaked track with wet tyres. IMO it was possible to surpass my
previous time, but since the difference between the two times should
have been tens of seconds rather than tenths I thought the point was
clearly made.

Wierd? Mind boggling? Hell, I can't explain it, I've got only three
brain cells, but seems veeeeeery strange to me. Identical grip through
the corners as far as makes no difference, braking points appeared to
be later if anything than with slicks in the dry, car felt exactly the
same.

Cheers!

Skip the Voodoo. It won't do as much for framerate as the Monster3D.

Funny, you don't say how many fps you get (not to mention, that it
doesn't look good anymore with your GOOD settings)...

Er...I'm neither on one side or the other, but I beg to differ on
this point.  MSIE (as cool as it may seem to some) is not a superior
product to Netscape's lower overhead, ease of configuration, and
overall speed.  BTW, Java and Javascript (Sun's) works much
better (IMHO) on Netscape than MSIE-(any version).  =)

Cheers!
