Has anybody tried DX7a with NL, GPL, and N3? It warns that it can't be
uninstalled, so I want to be sure before I download it.

After installing a Creative Geforce Annihilator Pro, I've had serious
problems with FPS in GPL. It looks like FPS got a tad better with DirectX7a,
which really isn't a surpise, as one of the DirectX7a's features is lowered
loss of FPS when using force feedback (I have a MSFF wheel).

I also tried Viper Racing. Couldn't find any difference in performance
whatsoever.

DX7 is completely safe.  It actually improves FF performance in N3 and
FS2000.  I don't understand Why people have concerns everytime a new DX
comes out.  It's completely foolish.  I've had every version of DX on 3
different machines and NEVER had a problem.

I put the ORIGINAL DX7 on my computer, when it came out.  And that version
messed up all of my controllers.  Many people have had these problems. That's
the reason for DX7a.

I did DX7a  this morning then ran a league race. It went very well. I
haven't tried NL or N3 yet, but it should work with them too.

O.K. I downloaded and installed it. N3 and NL run as smooth as butter, but I
haven't tried GPL yet. I don't know if I am getting a frame rate improvement
(never had a problem anyway), but I assume so, however the graphics seem to
look a little richer, and my MSFF wheel seems less 'spikey'.  A 43 car field
runs very well, with all the graphics full on in 1026X800. For those who
want to compare my system is:
P450
128 Ram
V3 2000
MSFF Wheel

Does anyone know if it works OK with a Logitech FF wheel? I understand there
were some problems with the original DX7.

Because it's released by MS?

Lots of people had and still have problems with DX7! And just because it
works on your system makes you think it works on every system??? LOL

I installed and now my Logitech wingman wheel steering calibrates
opposite. When steering left the car turns right. I can fix this in the
game but in some (like driver) you cannot change so this has added a new
challenge.

I also installed DX7a on my machine, w/ LWFF and all is fine with my
machine.  But I didn't have a problem with any of the other releases of DX.

All versions of DX have worked perfectly on all of my systems.  Don't spread
mindless "evil Microsoft" paranoia just because YOU aren't configuring YOUR
machine correctly.

Dx7a seems to be working OK with my LWFF . At least I haven't got any worse
with it! :)

Try re-installing your Logitech drivers.  I still have 7.0 and haven't
had any problems with my LFFW.

The Wingman site has an update to the control panel that fixes some
calibration issues.
