gpl freeze problems

I've just started to try to play gpl again, but the screen keeps freezing
when i try to set up the wheel. I also seem to get a second mouse trail and
a small coloured block on screen. I'm using a creative voodoo 2 card and i
the driver may be the problem, whats the best driver to use with this card
for gpl.

It's the version of Glide that's doing it.

I think the latest drivers are ok.

If you can't find decent drivers, simply as soon as you start GPL, go into
the options and choose the software renderer. Then quit (so it can change
renderer).
Restart GPL in software, change your options to how you want them, then
switch back to hardware and quit and restart again.
I think this gets around the lock-ups as they tend only to appear in the
options screen.
