[F'up2 and xpost to ra.simulators]

Very true. I always drive with all aids turned off anyway, but
unfortunately couldn't get myself to shell out the $$$ for a wheel
(yet), and with a joystick F1RS is *real* hard. After being used to
GP1, I thought GP2 was hard when it came out, but I just went back
to it for fun the other day, and it was so much easier than F1RS I
couldn't believe it. It felt like I was driving a much lighter car
with wider tires by comparison. (Which made me remember that I thought
F1RS felt like driving a bus at first.)

I feel much the same way, but I not only find it harder to drive,
but also much harder to find a good set-up. I wish the same set-up
strategies that worked with GP2 would work in F1RS, so it wouldn't
be such a big re-adjustment.
Also, you *do* need the right hardware for F1RS (FAPP, Voodoo
mandatory). Of course, ironically, now that F1RS is out, and GPL
is due out shortly, I finally have the right hardware to run GP2
properly... ;-)
