If you don't want to spend some money on a wheel..

I would suggest a Joystick over a gamepad....   It's really at least a
minimum to get a Joystick, A game pad is like racing with a keyboard, just
more ergonomic for your fingers ;-)

There's plenty of variety for Joysticks. You might want to check out the
Microsoft Sidewinder series of joystick (they have a great range of price
and are good quality joysticks).  You can also check out the Thrustmaster
line of Joysticks. They are mostly solid and reliable.

A gamepad will not add nothing.. but at least with a Joystick you have
analog functions for the wheel + gas/pedal depending on how many functions
you have with the Joystick (+ you can add pedals to it also.. it's a great
combo).

What is the best game pad for racing sims.

Hi there,

I'm interested in getting a wheel but prefer buying game pad so that I
can use it for other types of games also.

My question is: what is the best game pad for racing?? I'm interested in
getting the Gravis X-terminator because it has an analog button that I
could use for steering.

I'm now using my MS Sidewinder Gamepad to race in GPL but the analog
controls has always left me in the dust, or upside down on the side of
the track  ;-)

I'll wait for your suggestions.

Thanks.
