Garbled graphics exiting N2002 w/GF4 4600

I've tried 2 different cards, the PNY and the VisionTek.  Both were the
Ti4600.  I can't seem to figure out why when I exit the Nascar2002, the
graphics are all garbled, and unreadable, and I have to hard boot the
computer to be able to use the computer.
Anyone else experiencing this?

thanks

Running XP and 27.70. No problems. Does the problem happen in d3d, open GL,
or both?

The only time that I can get it to happen is when I exit N2002, and I'm
using open GL.  Also, it is intermittent, it doesn't happen all the time.  I
tried it with D3D, but it hasn't happened yet.  Although, I haven't used D3D
that much.
