To the evil Mr Warringa.....

Now where do i start...?

Let's get going then,i am a *** sim racer,have been for 8 years and
never really tried much else.

BUT..!!

Then i see your 'satan' post not long ago and i feel compelled to inform
you....

I HATE YOU WITH A PASSION...!!!!!!!

Only hated three men in my life and you become number four..BIG STYLE.

At least the other three were referees in crucial footie matches, but unless
you have knobbly knees and dress in black, you are from a different ilk.

So i leave you with this Mr Warringa, dont ever catch my eye again with a
post,or we could be talking a life term for me in Shawshank.!!!!

Morgan

p.s If i crash this CHUFFIN il-2 thing again i will
screeeeeeeeeeeaaammmm, and they blow me up before i've got settled and they
come from all 18 sides of me with ***y bombs and then  i am expected to
corkscrew to within 3 inches of the ground to survive and even then 40 tanks
have me in their sights and.....and....and...aaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh i
hate you WARRINGA..!!

LOL :)

So.. you like it eh? :)))

I just ordered myself the Saitek x45, a flightsim joystick with around
576384 programmable buttons, 28 switchhatch buttons and 1
rocketlauncher button,  and a separate throttle control.
Together with my ch pro pedals I should be all set :)

So in this way IL2 also resembles GPL: taking away all my savings just
in order to enjoy the sim to the fullest :-/

Andre,

I use to do a little flight simming and have a Saitek X35/X36 HOTAS system.
Although I haven't done any flight simming since MS CFS2 first came out.
I've been looking at IL-2 since its been getting pretty good reviews.  I
wouldn't mind doing some flight combat again... even if I would be mostly
target practice!  LOL

How is the online component and your general opinion?  Especially since I
have a similar system as you described.

P3-900,  GeForce Pro "Golden Sample" 450 64mb video card,  512mb of SDRAM,
etc.

Thanks,

Scott

I haven't tested multiplayer that much yet, but I did an online
session with 32 players and that was really great, very good
connection and hardly any warping. I want to do some more offline
practice though before I go online again, because the online
experience was quite.. humiliating for me to say the least.. just like
my first GPL online sessions ;)

My general opinion is that IL2 is a new benchmark, and not only for
flightsims. The attention to detail is amazing, graphics, sound, how
smooth it runs, how real the handling of the planes feel, it excells
in all those areas. Like GPL it was made by people with a true love
and passion.

I suggest you read the reviews at www.gamespot.com and www.simhq.com
for some more info and screenshots.
And buy it. Now :)

P3 866 GF2 here, running IL2 with everything set to maximum detail at
1024, smooth as butter..

Use the rudders.. yup, even taking off is hard.. try taking off with a
fully bomb-loaded plane during a thunderstorm.. good luck :)

I haven't even managed a landing yet.. not without completely trashing
my plane that is :-/

See this, DGF? That's all Tom would have to have done to indicate he wasn't
being serious. Not hard, is it?

> It's by Ubi Soft. I'm sure you have nothing to do with it then.

Like I said, they are only the producers.  That's like praising Warner Bros.
for
the work of Stanley Kubrick.

>David G Fisher

And your point is Ubi Soft also releases excellent sims like IL2
besides releasing unfinished beta sims like F1RC, while bullshitting
about a patch which the really stupid people among us actually
believed in?

In that case we agree :)
