>>> They only censored one scene right? I downloaded that scene from the
>>> internet, and imho it doesn't add anything to EWS.

Am I mistaken or is the region 2 dvd uncensored in this respect?
Which scene has been removed from the zone 1?  I personally think that
the film could be a few minutes shorter and still be as powerful, but
for a few minutes, i don't mind if a scene is heightened by a more
lingering shot or two.  i'm no movie expert or anything, but although
i think it is a very good film, i've enjoyed movies like 2001 more.

Its all a question of taste, imo, and as others have repeatedly told
me, i have none. Hell, 'Top Secret' is in my all time top 10 fave
movies, so draw your own conclusions. :)

Yeah but Star Wars had to steal the whole Luke/Leia bit from Tolkein.
Aragorn, son of Arathorn, the Future ....(well, I don't want to spoil movie
#3) is the Human decendant of a pair of brothers....Elrond the Elf, who's
daughter is ARwen(main Squeeze of Aragorn) is the other half of that
brotherly pair....So they are like Kissin Cousins..
And look at the secondary bad guys....everybody knows Peter Cushing (Grand
Moff Tarkin) always played second fiddle to Christopher Lee(Saruman) in all
those Dracula movies.  Case closed....

One nurburgRing to find them.
One nurburgRing to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

I'm not looking forward to the films either:)

So what if there WERE a following of a new religion?  Meaning, the census
people didn't know about it?  Would they fine the new 'scientology' followers?

Bah, and like Tolkien didn't steal that from old mythology ;-)

Yep, and Christopher Lee in Episode 2 is pretty much that also.  Case
closed... ;)

"ymenard"
outshines Christopher Lee when ANY ninnie knows Christopher Lee is clearly
superior...  :)
Alright...lets look at Magic/Force.  Anniekin can move things, feel things
and drive real fast.  Gandalf...the world's #2 Wizard, when cornered by
wolves...chose to light PINE CONES on fire and pitch them at said
wolves...(I know that's Hobbit lore not LotR but ....)
Clearly a Pinecone Pitcher can deal with a leaping parking attendant with
an overgrown flashlight

er sorry guys.

looks like I'm going to be eating canned beans on christmas dinner.

your respective 0.02c are on the way.  seems like too many of you got
the answer right.

i hope i have enough for all of you.

btw, i *found* my copy of the boggit.  it starts the same way as the
hobbit, but besides the chest you also have a box of exploding
chocolates and a toilet in your hobbit hole.  i was killed by the
chocolates i think.  didn't even get to meet gandalf or thorin
yet(whatever their names are).  bilbo is now *** and lives in Muddle
Earth.

kerchink. (sound of cash register).

actually I was referring to the C64 / Spectrum, etc adventure game
from Melbourne House(who are still around, it seems).

Now that I think of it, there was some guy who wrote 2 commercial
spoof adventures called the Boggit & Bored of the Rings.  They were
actually quite good, apparently.  Now where is my emulator...

I can hear my mother now.

What kind of Jedi Knight are you?  You call that a light sabre?  You
don't even take your mitichlorian (spelling?) supplements.

and the force?  you can't even move your arse from your computer.

*sigh*
I haven't made an on-topic post for ages.

sorry R.A.S. police.

okay-let's-all-start-some-irrelevant-thread-so-all-us-buddies-who-should-be-

Well, it doesn't seem too difficult to remember "the thread 'Hey Warringa'
contains a useless OT discussion which I would rather not follow".  You've
got several kilos of grey matter in your skull, and I'm sure it would
benefit from this sort of pattern-recognition exercise.  Why use a black and
white filter rule when your brain can do a better job?

Yeah, but Tolkien probably lifted that from Wagner's tetralogy of operas "The
Ring of the Nibelungen" in which Siegried and Sieglinda, twin brother and
sister, are lovers.  And of course Wagner's story is derived from many old
Germanic legends, epics, sagas .... Not that there's anything wrong with that
(borrowing thematic material from other works, that is - I'm not condoning
*** ;-) ).

Dave Ewing

P.S. So Dave, how come you spell your name Henrie in your e-mail address and
when you sign your name, but you have Henre (no i) in your "from" line? Just
curious.
